Busy Bee Learning Tree provides safe, quality care for children six weeks to 12 years. Our curriculum encompasses principles of self-esteem development, social skill acquisition, citizenship, and other developmentally appropriate skills for young children. Skills practiced incorporate math and reading readiness, basic science, music, computers, and safety. Our goal is to help challenge each child’s strengths and strengthen their weaknesses in a fun learning environment.
Busy Bee’s philosophy centers on the child as a member of the community. We help the child investigate who lives around us, what they do, where they work, what it takes to make our community function, etc. We take frequent walking field trips to explore the world around us and to understand our responsibilities as community members, such as the correct way to walk on the sidewalk, to not negatively disrupt nature, for example.
Part of the philosophy of the child’s membership is working to instill within them the need to give back to the community. They participate in a community service project every other month that might include baking cookies for the local nursing home on Grandparent’s Day, collecting garbage, leaving flowers planted in Dixie cups on neighbors’ doorsteps or collecting food and delivering it to the local food pantry in our wagons.
We work to prepare the child for school, or for older children, to compliment what they are currently learning in school. Our staff is committed to making the time the child is away from their family, a fun and exciting time. We invite your child to join us!
